Microsoft’s Big February Patch Tuesday for Windows 11 Users

Microsoft’s latest Patch Tuesday update is a significant one for all Windows 11 users. Released on February 11, the update not only adds new features but also addresses several critical security vulnerabilities.

New features include enhanced built-in tools such as Taskbar and File Explorer. The updated Taskbar now offers improved previews and animations when hovering over icons, while a new icon appears in the System Tray for apps that support Windows Studio Effects. Additionally, a simplified Chinese font called Simsun-ExtG has been added.

File Explorer has also received updates, with a “New Folder” command appearing in the context menu when right-clicking on a drive or folder. The update also resolves several bugs, including those related to search functionality and icon display.

The February Patch Tuesday update also fixes a number of security vulnerabilities, including 56 total, with three classified as critical. These include zero-day flaws that could allow attackers to delete files, execute malicious code remotely, and spoof authentication credentials.

Microsoft’s latest patches are set to be automatic updates, meaning they will automatically install on your PC. To apply the update, head to Settings, select Windows Update, and click the Check for updates button.
