Millie Bobby Brown Speaks Out Against Ageism and Body Shaming

Millie Bobby Brown has taken a stand against ageism and body shaming in the media. The actress, known for her roles in “Stranger Things” and “The Electric State,” called out several journalists who criticized her appearance during her press tour.

Brown’s comments came after she debuted a new look, sporting a blonde ’90s-inspired hairstyle and outfits reminiscent of the Y2K era. Some publications labeled the changes as a sign that Brown had “aged far beyond her years.” However, Brown took to Instagram to fire back, stating that she was tired of being scrutinized for her looks.

“I grew up in front of the world, and for some reason, people can’t seem to grow with me,” she said. “Instead, they act like I’m supposed to stay frozen in time, like I should look the way I did on ‘Stranger Things’ Season 1.”

Brown pointed out that the focus on her appearance was not only cruel but also reflected unrealistic standards directed at young women. “The fact that adult writers are spending their time dissecting my face, my body, my choices… it’s disturbing,” she said.

Madonna has previously faced similar criticism for her age and looks, with some commenters suggesting that she was “obsessed” with plastic surgery. Brown is not the only star to speak out against ageism and body shaming; actress Sarah Jessica Parker recently came under fire for comments made by a Twitter user.

Brown’s Instagram video, which has garnered over 1.6 million likes in just 12 hours, has received widespread support from A-listers such as Sharon Stone, Matthew Modine, and Winnie Harlow. Brown concludes her message on a defiant note: “I refuse to apologize for growing up… Let’s do better.”
