Minecraft Gets Vibrant Visuals Update

Minecraft is getting a major visual overhaul as part of its upcoming update called Vibrant Visuals. The sandbox game, which has been the best-selling game of all time for almost 14 years, will now feature improved lighting with volumetric effects.

In the new update, sunlight will shine more naturally across different surfaces, including through windows, and each block will cast its own unique shadow. Mobs and items will also glow more in this updated version.

The Vibrant Visuals update is initially set to release for Bedrock Edition of the game, with plans to bring it to Java Edition later. While some players may not need this update due to existing mods that already offer similar features, others are excited about the new changes.

Other announcements from Minecraft Live include the ability to fly around on friendly ghasts and a live event where players can team up with Jack Black’s version of Steve to defend a village in mini-games, earning rewards along the way.
