Mojang has announced its upcoming “Vibrant Visuals” update for the Bedrock Edition of Minecraft, which will soon be available as a cosmetic update. The update features modern graphics features such as directional lighting, volumetric fog, dynamic shadows, water reflections, and more.
Players can expect improved visuals with subsurface scattering, casting a soft glow to leaves and grass. Mobs and items will also have increased glow, making spider eyes even more menacing in the dark. Additionally, torches will cast a glowing path back to builds.
The update is backward compatible with Old Worlds and runs locally, allowing players to play with friends who don’t have it enabled. Mojang is currently testing the update on various devices and plans to release it as a beta or preview for users to test.
While this update brings significant visual improvements, existing gameplay mechanics will remain unchanged. This ensures that players can continue to play together without affecting gameplay performance. The update may eventually be ported to the Java Edition, but Minecraft With RTX remains the best way to experience the game from a visual standpoint with powerful PC hardware.
