Temple Israel, the largest Jewish house of worship in Minnesota, was targeted by antisemitic graffiti early Wednesday. The vandalism included a reference to an attack on Israel two years ago and threatening language about Zionism.
The city is standing with its Jewish neighbors against hate. Mayor Jacob Frey condemned the act, calling it “cowardly and unacceptable” in Minneapolis. No arrests have been made yet.
A neighbor spotted the graffiti around 2:30 a.m. and alerted the temple staff, who then notified police and community agencies. Rabbi Marcia Zimmerman said that this is not about politics but hate speech, urging everyone to call it out. The incident highlights the ongoing struggle against antisemitism in the state.
