Minnesota Vikings WR Jordan Addison Suspended 3 Games

Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Jordan Addison has been suspended for the first three games of the NFL season following a guilty plea to a wet reckless driving charge related to a DUI incident last year. The suspension is due to the league’s substance abuse policy, which acknowledges his use of alcohol in the driving incident. Addison will be eligible to return for the Vikings’ Week 4 game against the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Addison, who has been the team’s No. 2 receiver for two seasons, pleaded no contest on July 17 to resolve a DUI citation and was subsequently subject to NFL discipline. He must pay a $390 fine and complete 12 months of probation, with the option to reduce it by half if he completes online courses.

Injuries and suspensions have affected the Vikings’ receiving corps in recent seasons. Fourth-year receiver Jalen Nailor is the top candidate to replace Addison in the starting lineup, having started seven games last season.
