A stray cat has been rescued in Minnesota after surviving a three-week journey from China. The female feline was found inside a shipping container and is described as “nothing short of a miracle” by her rescuers.
According to animal control, the cat likely survived by drinking condensation and catching rodents on the ship. She was then transferred to the Northwoods Humane Society, where she made rapid progress despite being initially fearful.
Executive director Kerry D’Amato at Pet Haven in St. Paul reports that the cat is now “blossoming” into a confident animal, displaying soft eyes and purring. Despite initial reservations, the cat has shown remarkable adaptability, using her litter box perfectly and consuming all her food.
