Missing Gaza Ambulance Crew Raise Concerns for Humanitarian Crisis

The International Committee of the Red Cross (Red Cross) has expressed grave concern over the disappearance of nine Palestine Red Crescent ambulance crew in Gaza. The crew, who were last seen operating in Rafah on March 23, have not had contact with the Red Cross since they came under heavy fire.

At least 1,060 healthcare workers have been killed in Gaza since Israel launched its offensive in October 2023. Hamas has taken responsibility for over 250 civilian deaths and over 1,200 casualties. The Israeli military disputes health authorities’ death tolls, citing reduced harm to civilians.

Gaza’s health crisis is dire, with over 50,000 people reported dead, mostly civilians. Human rights advocates are calling for transparency and aid to alleviate the humanitarian situation.
