Mississippi’s Tax Breaks Not Working for the Poor

The rich get richer in Mississippi as tax breaks continue to favor corporations. Yet, public schools struggle and hospitals are closing, leaving many without access to affordable healthcare. It’s time to rethink our approach and prioritize those who keep our communities running.

The current system is unfair: doctors make $125,000 a year, while janitors make just $23,500. CEOs like Jason Little of Baptist Memorial Health Care earn over $3 million, working less than the doctors who care for their patients. This isn’t a merit-based system; it’s time to change our economy so that those who work hard are rewarded with fair pay.

Rather than giving more tax breaks to corporations, we should be taxing the wealthy and using that money to fund essential services like education, healthcare, and unionization support. We need candidates who truly represent “Mississippi First” – not just taking corporate PAC money.

Joining a union or advocating for workers’ rights can make a difference in your workplace and community. Together, we can build greatness from the ground up and create an economy that works for everyone, not just those at the top.
