The National Baseball Hall of Fame will welcome its 89th member this weekend as the Class of 2025 is formally inducted. The new class includes baseball legends CC Sabathia, Dick Allen, Ichiro Suzuki, Billy Wagner, and Dave Parker.
CC Sabathia, a six-time All-Star and two-time World Series champion with the Yankees, was elected to the Hall of Fame in his first year of eligibility. A seven-time All-Star pitcher with over 3,000 strikeouts, Sabathia joins an elite group of pitchers who have achieved at least 250 wins, a .600 winning percentage, and 3,000 strikeouts.
Dick Allen, a 15-season major league veteran, was also elected to the Hall of Fame posthumously. A seven-time All-Star with over 351 career home runs, Allen had a storied career that included stints with several iconic teams, including the Phillies, Cardinals, and Dodgers.
Ichiro Suzuki, widely regarded as one of the greatest contact hitters in baseball history, rounds out this year’s class. The Japanese legend spent most of his career with the Mariners, setting numerous records for hits and hits per at-bat.
The induction ceremony will take place on Sunday, July 27, at Cooperstown, N.Y., live on MLB Network and streaming on MLB.com.
