MLB Opening Day 2025 Schedule and Updates

Major League Baseball’s 2025 season is underway with the Chicago Cubs and Los Angeles Dodgers kicking off their seasons in Tokyo before returning to the United States on March 27. The Dodgers won the first game of the series, 4-1, behind a strong start from Yoshinobu Yamamoto.

For the rest of the league, Opening Day falls on Thursday, March 27. This marks the beginning of the regular season for most teams, with 14 games scheduled that day. The Milwaukee Brewers and New York Yankees will get things started at 3:05 p.m. ET, followed by the Baltimore Orioles and Toronto Blue Jays two minutes later.

However, not all teams start on March 27. The Colorado Rockies and Tampa Bay Rays will open their seasons on Friday, March 28, as Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg, Florida, is still under repair due to Hurricane Milton’s damage last year.

The MLB Tokyo Series marked the league’s second consecutive season playing its first regular-season game overseas. Shohei Ohtani was praised by fans for his performance in the series.
