Modi Celebrates 175 Nations Adhering to Yoga in Record Time

Prime Minister Narendra Modi marked the International Yoga Day from Visakhapatanam, Andhra Pradesh, where a massive event was organized along a 26-km-long corridor. The Guinness record for the maximum number of people doing Surya Namaskar was also set at this event.

In his speech, PM Modi highlighted that 175 nations have adopted yoga in just 11 years after the UN declared June 21 as International Day of Yoga in 2014. Many countries worldwide are celebrating this day, including India’s Air Force and other organizations like the Border Security Force.

The celebrations took place at various locations across the country, with participants performing yoga on the banks of the Yamuna river in New Delhi, at the Taj Mahal in Agra, and at several government buildings. Bollywood stars Dharmendra and Ekta Jain also participated in the celebrations.

The International Day of Yoga aims to promote holistic well-being and was initially proposed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi himself. The event marked a significant milestone for India’s efforts to popularize yoga globally.
