Actor Mohanlal praised Allu Arjun-starrer Pushpa 2: The Rule, comparing its success to a “gatecrash” that needs to bring change. Speaking at the trailer launch of his upcoming film Barroz in Mumbai, he expressed hope that all films will run and be respected.
Mohanlal believes the film industry’s wheel must turn for release and success. He cited his own past experience with the pan-Indian film Kalapani, which won a National Award back in 1999. The actor thinks there is still potential for more diverse and globally appealing films to emerge from India.
At the same event, Mohanlal also praised his co-star Akshay Kumar’s acting skills and joked about not wanting to give advice to young actors entering the film industry. Meanwhile, Arjun’s next project has yet to be announced, while Mohanlal’s Barroz is set for release on December 25.
The success of Pushpa 2: The Rule comes after a string of pan-Indian films gaining popularity worldwide. With several big films lined up, including L2: Empuraan and Kannappa, the industry seems poised to continue its upward trend in the coming months.
