Jason Momoa, Jack Black, Jennifer Coolidge, Danielle Brooks, Emma Myers, and Sebastian Eugene Hansen attended the world premiere of A Minecraft Movie in London. The film follows four misfits who are transported to a mysterious portal where they must master its quirks to return home. The movie stars Black as Steve, the iconic character from the video game.
At the premiere, both Momoa and Black praised the film, saying it’s just what the world needs right now – love, creativity, and friendship. They also commended director Jared Hess and the cast for their hard work. Momoa joked about working with Black, calling him a “genius.”
When asked about his role in Minecraft, Momoa said he hopes fans will enjoy it and promises another movie could be made if they do. Brooks, who isn’t a fan of video games but joined the cast for her daughter, said she’s excited to see herself on screen.
Newcomer Hansen landed the role unexpectedly and praised working with the seasoned cast members. Producer Cale Boyter described the film as a way to “turn your brain off” and lose yourself in a world where anything is possible.
A Minecraft Movie will be released in theaters on April 4.
