Monster Hunter Wilds Microtransactions Lock Character Editing

Capcom’s new Monster Hunter Wilds game has been released on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S, but some players have discovered a frustrating twist. The ability to edit the physical features of player characters and Palicos is locked behind microtransactions.

For those who want more significant changes, like altering face shape or hair color, they need to purchase the Monster Hunter Wilds – Character Edit Voucher: Three-Voucher Pack for around $6. This voucher allows players to change their character’s appearance as many times as needed.

Similarly, players can also buy vouchers to edit their Palico companions. A pack of three vouchers costs $6, while a single voucher that covers multiple edits costs $10. Capcom has initially offered one free token for re-editing both characters and Palicos, but after this, players must pay for each edit.

This new development has raised concerns among players who were looking forward to more creative freedom in the game. The performance issues have already been an issue since launch night, when the game reached 1 million concurrent Steam players.
