Moon Lander Captures Stunning High-Definition Sunset Images

NASA has released high-definition images of a lunar sunset captured by its Blue Ghost lander, which went silent after completing a two-week mission. The Firefly Aerospace’s lander arrived on the moon on March 2 to deliver science and technology instruments.

During its time on the moon, the robot captured stunning images of the sunset, taking pictures every 10 minutes over five hours. These images show the sun’s light disappearing beneath the horizon. The Blue Ghost also collected nearly 9,000 images and 10 gigabytes of data.

The images will help researchers understand how the lander’s engine plumes impact the lunar soil. NASA plans to reactivate the lander in April, according to reports from The Associated Press.
