Morice Norris Expected to Return Home After Scary Injury

Detroit Lions safety Morice Norris is expected to return home after spending the night in an Atlanta hospital following a scary collision during Friday’s preseason game against the Falcons. Norris was injured making a tackle on rookie running back Nathan Carter and was taken off the field by ambulance.

After being evaluated for brain, neck, and spine injuries at Grady Memorial Hospital, Norris posted on Instagram that he is “all good” and thanked fans for their support. The NFL had suspended the game due to concerns about Norris’ safety, with the Lions leading 17-10.

Lions coach Dan Campbell and Falcons coach Raheem Morris met at midfield after the injury and agreed to end the game rather than risk further harm to Norris or his family. Players from both teams gathered in a circle to pray for Norris’ recovery.

Norris, who was competing for the No. 4 safety job, suffered a violent collision with Carter’s leg, causing his head to snap back violently. Medical personnel rushed onto the field, and the game was stopped for over 20 minutes before it was suspended.

Despite initial concerns about his condition, Norris seems to be recovering well, with his Instagram post suggesting he is grateful for fans’ support during a difficult time.
