A new study analyzing data from over 40,000 adults found that consuming coffee in the morning may have health benefits not seen when drinking coffee later in the day. Researchers discovered that those who drank coffee in the morning were 16% less likely to die of any cause and 31% less likely to die from cardiovascular disease compared to those who didn’t drink coffee.
The study, which tracked participants’ dietary habits for 10 years, found that morning coffee drinkers had a lower risk of death regardless of their coffee consumption level. The researchers suggest that the timing of coffee consumption may be more important than the amount consumed.
Drinking coffee in the evening may disrupt circadian rhythms and hormone levels, leading to poorer sleep, inflammation, and blood pressure, all of which can harm heart health. In contrast, morning coffee may counteract these effects by reducing inflammation and promoting healthier physiology.
The study’s findings support previous research that moderate coffee consumption has a positive impact on heart health. However, it is essential to note that individual results may vary, and more research is needed to fully understand the relationship between coffee consumption and heart health.
