Mortgage applications dropped by 6.6% from last week, according to data from the Mortgage Bankers Association. This decline is more pronounced on an unadjusted basis, where applications fell by 4%. The refinance share of mortgage activity decreased to 38.7%, down from 40.2% last week. Refinance index numbers also dropped, falling 7% compared to the previous week and increasing 39% year-over-year.
