For the first time in years, falling mortgage rates are giving homebuyers a chance to see affordability return. As of February 26th, the average 30-year mortgage rate dropped to 5.98%, down from 6.01% just last week. This decrease may motivate more potential buyers to enter the market for the upcoming spring home-buying season, according to Freddie Mac’s chief economist.
