Motorola Razr Ultra Review: Is $1,299 Worth It?

Motorola has revamped its iconic flip phone design with the new Razr line, including a premium “Ultra” model priced at $1,299. The company’s efforts to improve the internal structure and material choices have yielded noticeable results.

While appearances may not have changed dramatically, the new titanium-reinforced hinge plate is four times stronger than surgical-grade stainless steel and can withstand more folds. This upgrade, along with the improved display, makes folding and unfolding smoother.

The Razr Ultra boasts a larger 7-inch internal screen and comes equipped with high-performance processors from MediaTek and Qualcomm. The camera capabilities are also enhanced, offering better quality and features.

One of the standout features is Motorola’s AI integration, which provides users with a controlled experience. Partnered with Google, Meta, Microsoft, and Perplexity, the phones recommend the most suitable services depending on the task at hand.

The phone also comes pre-installed with in-house AI tools like Catch Me Up, Pay Attention, and Remember This. Although available to beta testers for months, these features are now officially launching.

Motorola’s design efforts have improved significantly, offering Pantone-validated finishes that provide a breath of fresh air in the market. However, some questions remain unanswered, including the durability of softer materials and whether it’s worth the premium price tag.

The Razr Ultra will be available for preorder starting May 7, with official sales set to begin on May 15.
