Motorola is kicking off the hot summer season with its new line of foldable flip phones, starting with the premium Razr Ultra. This year’s launch marks an early start to the season, and Moto has brought three models to the table – including a revamped Ultra model that boasts some notable upgrades.
The high-end Razr Ultra comes with a hefty price tag of $1,299, which is comparable to Samsung’s Galaxy Ultra territory. Despite the hefty cost, you’ll get a generous 16GB of RAM, 512GB of storage, and a Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset – the latest Android flagship processor. The phone also supports up to 30W wireless charging and 68W wired charging.
One unique feature of the Razr Ultra is its dedicated AI button, which can be accessed through an interface called Moto AI. This feature offers various AI-powered features, including the ability to “remember” screenshots, photos, and notes, as well as summarize recent notifications.
Motorola has also introduced a partnership with Perplexity, which can be accessed through Moto AI, providing predictive suggestions. However, it remains to be seen whether these features will live up to their promises.
The non-Ultra Razr models retain the same prices as last year’s versions – $999 for the 2025 Razr Plus and $699 for the Razr. All three phones will go on sale in the US starting May 15th, with preorders available from May 7th.
While the standard Razr doesn’t offer any significant upgrades, it still looks stylish with its new colors and finishes. The premium Razr Ultra, however, takes center stage with a stunning wood grain back panel and an Alcantara synthetic fabric finish that gives it a unique look.
