A new hotel project is set to be built in downtown Milwaukee’s Deer District, with the 156-room Moxy hotel expected to open in 2027. The seven-floor hotel will be designed by Gary Brink & Associates and developed by North Central Group Hospitality (NCG). Located on the former Bradley Center site, the hotel will feature a spacious lobby, bar, and seating areas on the first floor, as well as six floors of guest rooms and suites.
The Moxy hotel is expected to have lower room rates than nearby The Trade hotel, which was also developed by NCG. Plans for the project include a potential 14-story development at an adjacent site, although no plans have been announced yet.
Designs for the hotel note its proximity to the FPC Live music venue and other nearby developments, including a residential development planned for the west side of the site. The Milwaukee Bucks, lead developers of the Deer District, did not immediately respond to requests for comment on the project’s progress or timeline.
NCG anticipates a late 2025 groundbreaking for the project, with construction and opening expected to be completed by 2027. The hotel is currently under review by the Plan Commission and is set to open in late 2027.
