YouTube star Jimmy Donaldson, aka MrBeast, has popped the question to his girlfriend, 27-year-old South African model and gamer Thea Booysen. On Christmas Day at their home surrounded by family and friends, MrBeast got down on one knee and proposed with a beautiful diamond ring.
According to Thea, the surprise proposal was carefully planned to include her close-knit family from South Africa, who had flown in for the holiday. She recalls that she intentionally dropped a box to create a noise before presenting the real gift – the engagement ring – and then went down on one knee to propose.
The couple met in 2022 when MrBeast visited Thea’s home country, South Africa. They bonded over their shared passion for learning and quickly fell in love. Since then, they have made several public appearances together, including at the Kids’ Choice Awards in April 2022.
For Booysen, marriage is just another step in their life together. She says that she and MrBeast already feel like a married couple, discussing long-term plans and shared interests such as playing video games and spending time with their dogs.
Despite his busy schedule, MrBeast has expressed excitement to plan an intimate wedding with Booysen. They are thinking of exchanging vows on a private island, surrounded by close friends and family, rather than a large-scale ceremony.
The couple’s love for each other is clear, as evident from the romantic snap they shared on Instagram last month. Booysen captioned her post saying “I’m so proud of you Jimmy!!” – a testament to their strong bond.
With their wedding plans underway, MrBeast and Thea are looking forward to starting their new life together.
