Microsoft Flight Simulator’s (MSFS) latest release has been met with disappointment from players, who point out a multitude of simple issues that have persisted for years. Despite acknowledging these problems in the past, it appears the development team is shifting its focus to addressing new content rather than revisiting existing features.
For instance, long-standing issues like non-functional landing challenge leaderboards and inaccurate measurement units remain unresolved. These are basic problems that should be easy to fix, but they haven’t received any attention from the developers recently. Notably, these issues were not discussed in the recent developer stream.
Players are now faced with two concerns: outdated features riddled with bugs that won’t be fixed and a new version with significantly more bugs that will likely take years to resolve. While it’s still early days for MSFS 2024, its troubled start raises questions about the game’s long-term viability.
