MSG Network Crisis: How to Watch Knicks, Rangers & Islanders Games

MSG Networks and Altice are locked in a carriage dispute that has removed the network from Optimum TV, affecting Knicks, Islanders, Rangers, and Devils fans. As of Tuesday morning, no agreement was reached between the two parties.

However, fans have alternative options to watch games. MSG programming is available through direct-to-consumer streaming via the Gotham Sports app for $279.99 per year or $29.99 per month. The YES Network can also be accessed through the app at a higher cost.

For households in Altice’s geographical footprint, MSG is accessible via Verizon Fios, DirecTV, DirecTV Stream, and fuboTV. Consumers can check their options based on zip code on MSG’s website.

The dispute has raised concerns about the shrinking traditional cable bundle subscriber base. MSG lost its carriage deal with Comcast over three years ago, but a deal with Altice would be more significant.

Both sides issued statements on Monday night, each accusing the other of being unreasonable. As of early Tuesday afternoon, negotiations remained stalled, leaving fans to explore alternative viewing options.
