MTA Chairman Responds to Trump’s Threat on NYC Congestion Toll

New York City’s Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) chairman responded to President Donald Trump’s threat to shut down the congestion toll in Manhattan. The toll, which is $9 for drivers entering the center of the city during peak hours, was introduced as a way to reduce traffic congestion and promote sustainable transportation.

In an interview with CNN, MTA Chairman Patrick Fugit defended the new toll, saying it will help reduce congestion and improve air quality. He also noted that the revenue generated from the toll will be used to fund public transportation projects in the city.

Trump had threatened to shut down the toll if it was not repealed by March 31st. However, after the meeting with MTA Chairman Fugit, Trump seemed to back down on his threat, stating that he would “take a look” at the toll.
