MTA Tracks Congestion Pricing Zone Vehicle Data Online

The Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) has launched an online dashboard to track and analyze data on vehicles entering Manhattan’s congestion pricing zone. The platform allows users to filter data by date, entry time, entry point, and vehicle type. Additionally, it shows the number of drivers who enter lower Manhattan via exempt roadways.

According to MTA Deputy Chief of Policy and External Relations Juliette Michaelson, this dataset is part of a series related to the congestion relief zone tolling program. The MTA publishes nearly 150 datasets, and Michaelson expressed hope that other stakeholders would utilize this data to inform their decisions.

The new tracker comes a day after the release of January data showing a reduction in vehicles below 60th Street in Manhattan per weekday compared to the MTA’s baseline estimate. The data also revealed improved travel times into the congestion zone during peak morning hours, thanks to the tolling program.
