Multiple Food Recalls Issued Amid Salmonella Contamination Concerns

Food safety concerns are on the rise this holiday season, with Costco’s Kirkland brand eggs and SunFed’s whole cucumbers facing recalls due to potential salmonella contamination.

The recall for Kirkland Signature Organic Pasture Raised 24-Count Eggs affects 10,800 packages from Handsome Brook Farm, sold at 25 locations across several states, including Alabama, Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Tennessee. The affected eggs have a “use by” date of January 5, 2025.

Meanwhile, SunFed has recalled whole cucumbers sold in more than two dozen states, sickening 68 people in 19 states, with 18 requiring hospitalization. Montana reported the most cases at 16, followed by Oregon and Colorado, each with seven to nine cases.

As holiday gatherings increase, shoppers are advised to remain vigilant and check food recall notices to ensure safety while preparing meals for guests.
