Warner Bros. Games has cancelled its free-to-play fighting game MultiVersus before its fifth season is over, leaving some players who bought a $100 premium Founder’s Pack feeling “scammed”. The game’s closure means that players won’t be able to redeem all the rewards they purchased with their token packs and Gleamium.
Some players say they were expecting to use their 30 character tokens and 2500 Gleamium for future updates, but now many are left with unused credits. Others claim that the game promised more characters than it delivered, stating that only 12 new fighters were added after they bought their Founder’s Pack.
The MultiVersus team confirmed in a recent post that Season 5 will end on May 30th, but the game will remain available offline for players to continue playing. However, there has been no official word from Warner Bros. Games or developer Player First Games regarding potential refunds for Founder’s Pack buyers.
