Muncy Powers Dodgers to Record-Breaking Win Over Yankees

Los Angeles Dodgers star Max Muncy hit two three-run homers and seven RBIs in a dominant 18-2 win over the New York Yankees on Saturday, setting a season-high for runs scored by Los Angeles against their arch-rivals. The Dodgers pounded out a record-breaking 21 hits and chased multiple Yankees pitchers with long balls.

Muncy’s performance marked his career high in RBIs and included a 400-foot blast that chased the first pitcher he faced, Will Warren. Rookie Dalton Rushing also hit his first major-league homer, a three-run shot off position player Pablo Reyes in the eighth inning.

Dodgers starter Landon Knack held strong, allowing just one run on five hits in six innings with six strikeouts. The Dodgers have now outscored the Yankees 26-7 in their World Series rematch, having beaten New York in five games last year to claim their eighth championship.

Sunday’s series finale pits Los Angeles RHP Yoshinobu Yamamoto against Yankees LHP Ryan Yarbrough.
