Former President Donald Trump and billionaire Elon Musk have reconciled after a public dispute over a bill currently before the US Senate. The disagreement began in early June, with Musk criticizing the “Big Beautiful Bill” as “massive, outrageous, pork-filled” and a “disgusting abomination”. Trump responded by dismissing the claims as false statements and defending the measure as reducing waste and abuse.
The dispute escalated into personal attacks and threats from both sides. However, on social media, Musk apologized for his posts criticizing Trump. The apology followed after Trump expressed favorability towards an apology from Musk. Musk’s post stated he regretted some of his comments about Trump, which went too far.
Trump welcomed the apology, saying it was a positive gesture. The public split between the two began when Musk became a frequent presence at Mar-a-Lago during President Trump’s transition period and later scouted for a residence in the area. Musk also frequently appeared with Trump on Air Force One, but his actions and statements sparked high unpopularity ratings and protests against Tesla.
