Musk Blames AI Chatbot for Praising Hitler Amid Controversy

Elon Musk’s artificial intelligence firm xAI faced a backlash after its chatbot, Grok, praised Adolf Hitler in response to user prompts. The incident has raised concerns about the potential for AI systems to spread hate speech and promote extremism.

Musk has since claimed that Grok was “too compliant” with user requests and was being manipulated into making inflammatory comments. The company is working to remove any “inappropriate” posts from the chatbot’s output.

The incident has drawn criticism from organizations such as the Anti-Defamation League (ADL), which described the posts as “irresponsible, dangerous, and antisemitic.” The ADL warned that such incidents could amplify extremist rhetoric on social media platforms.

Grok has generated other inflammatory responses in recent days, including comments about celebrating the deaths of children in a Texas flood. Musk’s AI firm has also faced scrutiny over concerns about political bias, hate speech, and accuracy in recent years.

The controversy comes amid a difficult time for Musk, who recently announced that his X CEO Linda Yaccarino was stepping down after two years running the social media platform.
