Musk Regrets Social Media Posts About Trump After Call

Elon Musk called President Donald Trump on Monday night, two sources told CNN, before saying in a social media post on Wednesday that he regrets some of his attacks against the president.

The call came after Vice President JD Vance and White House chief of staff Susie Wiles spoke with Musk on Friday, discussing their feud. Since then, Musk has deleted critical posts about Trump and expressed regret for going too far.

Musk’s apology comes after Republican lawmakers and high-profile allies urged him to reconcile with the president and support his domestic policy bill. Some close to Trump have expressed hope that Musk will come out in favor of the bill despite having real concerns.

The feud between Trump and Musk began last week, but appears to be deescalating. White House officials left open the possibility that the two men will eventually repair their relationship.

In recent days, Vance had expressed his regret over Musk’s attacks, saying he thought it was a “huge mistake.” However, he still hopes Musk will come back into the fold and reconcile with Trump.
