Elon Musk, a former friend to President Donald Trump, has warned that the tech CEO will “do everything” to damage the president, even after appearing to make amends. Philip Low, a neuroscientist and businessman who was once close with Musk, told POLITICO that he believes Musk is still harboring grudges against Trump.
Low recalled his own experience with Musk when he fired the Tesla CEO from an advisory board in 2021 due to concerns over Musk’s intentions. Low said he’s unconvinced that Musk has forgiven Trump for their public spat earlier this month, and warned that Musk may use his influence to undermine Trump’s presidency as a form of revenge.
Musk had previously used his finances to help get Trump elected, but now believes Musk could use the same connections and influence to threaten Trump politically. Low claims that Musk is trying to destabilize companies by taking over or creating rival entities. However, he notes that Neuralink and NeuroVigil are not rivals.
Low’s warning suggests that Musk may be seeking to build his own political influence as a rival to MAGA, mirroring the president’s base of support.
