I recently shared a personal story about my experience with “brain fog” – a common symptom of menopause that left me struggling to focus during a live TV broadcast. I was surprised by the overwhelming response, with women sharing their own stories and experiences with brain fog. The conversation has sparked a big debate about the topic, with experts weighing in on potential solutions.
According to Dr Louise Newson, a menopause expert, testosterone is an essential brain chemical for both men and women that can contribute to brain fog symptoms. She suggests checking hormone levels and exploring supplements or therapy options. Another expert, Angela Marsh, notes that brain fog can be a result of hormonal changes and emphasizes the need for greater awareness and understanding.
My own experience with brain fog during the live TV broadcast led me to try an unconventional solution – holding a page of notes on screen. I’ve been encouraged by some viewers to start a movement, “Hold Your Notes,” which aims to normalize using notes in public speaking. While some experts recommend relying solely on short-term memory or exercise, others propose more comprehensive solutions like red light therapy and hormone replacement therapy.
As I continue to explore potential solutions for my own brain fog symptoms, I’m grateful for the attention and support from the community.
