Mysterious 3,000-Year-Old Pharaoh’s Bracelet Vanishes from Egyptian Museum

A 3,000-year-old bracelet thought to have adorned the wrist of ancient Pharaoh Amenemope has disappeared from Egypt’s National Museum in Cairo. The priceless artifact, which was being restored in a laboratory, vanished without detection. Authorities have launched a nationwide treasure hunt and circulated an image of the ancient jewelry across airports and border checkpoints. The bracelet features a rare lapis lazuli sphere and is believed to date back to around 993 BC. An investigation has been underway to determine how it went missing, with Egypt’s Tourism and Antiquities Ministry referring the incident to the Public Prosecution and forming a special committee to review all items in the lab.
