A team of researchers, led by David Ramm and Man Hoi Lee, has shed new light on a long-standing debate surrounding the mysterious planet in the star system Nu Octantis.
In 2004, astronomer David Ramm observed unusual repeating signals from this system, initially sparking speculation about the presence of a large planet. The size and closeness of the two stars made such a possibility seem improbable to some physicists.
However, after years of observation, Ramm and his colleagues have presented conclusive evidence that confirms Nu Octantis indeed consists of three celestial bodies: two stars and one elusive planet.
