NASA Commander Sees Mysterious Flying Objects Near His Plane

Former NASA commander Leroy Chiao has shared a harrowing experience of being nearly hit by two mysterious orb-shaped objects while flying his private plane in August last year. The incident occurred when Chiao was refueling at a Texas airfield, heading back to Houston.

Chiao, who has flown on three Space Shuttle missions and commanded the International Space Station’s Expedition 10, described the orbs as “perfectly smooth” and having no visible means of propulsion. He initially thought they might be part of a secret military program but questioned why they would operate in civil airspace under instrument flight rules.

The objects were traveling at approximately 100-150 mph, about the same speed as Chiao’s plane, but neither showed up on his radar or was mentioned by air traffic control. Chiao credited his narrow escape to “dumb luck.”

Chiao’s experience echoes reports of metallic orbs seen by US military witnesses worldwide, with some even performing complex maneuvers. He called for more transparency from the government regarding these sightings and expressed concern about potential malicious activity.

Meanwhile, a top US congressman has accused China of deploying spy drones near US military sites, citing reports that suggest they are adversarial in nature. The chairman of the House Foreign Affairs Committee believes the PRC is good at surveillance and has bought land around military bases, making this claim consistent with their policy.
