NASA’s Glenn Research Center (GRC) is undergoing a significant workforce transformation, which includes layoffs. Acting Administrator Janet Petro recently announced plans to offer eligible employees the opportunity to participate in three programs:
– Voluntary Early Retirement (VERA)
– Voluntary Separation Incentive Program (VSIP)
– NASA Deferred Resignation program
These programs provide various incentives for employees who choose to leave the agency voluntarily. The Office of the Chief Human Capital Officer (OCHCO) will be providing information and resources for eligible employees to review these options.
The decision to participate in one or more of these programs will have a significant impact on an individual’s career and personal life. NASA encourages employees to take time to research, ask questions, and make informed decisions about their future.
Additionally, the agency plans to hold information sessions for GRC employees, including those at Glenn, to aid in decision-making. Details on these sessions can be found by watching Inside Glenn.
The acting administrator thanks NASA employees for their patience, professionalism, and dedication to meeting the agency’s mission. The transformation is underway, but NASA appreciates the hard work and commitment shown by its employees every day.
