NASA Shifts Launch Date of SpaceX Crew-10 Mission to Early March

NASA has announced a revised launch date for the SpaceX Crew-10 mission to the International Space Station. The mission, which was initially targeted for late March 2025, is now set to launch no earlier than Wednesday, March 12. This change comes after NASA decided to replace a brand new Dragon spacecraft with a previously flown capsule.

The Crew Dragon Freedom will be used on the mission instead of the C213 Dragon, which had been intended for its debut on the private astronaut Ax-4 mission to the ISS. NASA will assess the spacecraft’s previously flown hardware to ensure it meets the agency’s safety and certification requirements before launching Crew-10.

The new launch date allows SpaceX time to complete final integration activities while simultaneously launching Crew-10 and returning Crew-9, which is currently docked at the space station. The transition period of several days will allow the incoming crew to familiarize themselves with the current configuration of the ISS and understand ongoing operations.

Crew-9 consists of NASA astronauts Nick Hague, Suni Williams, and Butch Wilmore, along with Roscosmos cosmonaut Aleksandr Gorbunov. Their undocking date will be determined by weather conditions off the coast of Florida.
