NASA to Live Stream Historic 272nd Spacewalk

Two Russian cosmonauts, Alexey Ovchinin and Ivan Vagner, are set to conduct the 272nd spacewalk outside the International Space Station on December 19. The live broadcast will begin at 9:45 a.m. EST on NASA+ platforms, including social media.

During the six-hour operation, Ovchinin and Vagner will install an experiment package to monitor celestial x-ray sources, replace electrical connector patch panels, and remove several experiments for disposal. They will also relocate a control panel for the European robotic arm attached to the Nauka multipurpose laboratory module.

This spacewalk marks the second outing for Ovchinin and the first for Vagner. Ovchinin will wear an Orlan spacesuit with red stripes, while Vagner will wear a suit with blue stripes. The mission aims to support space station assembly, maintenance, and upgrades.
