NASCAR’s All-Star Race Weekend is set to take over North Wilkesboro Speedway in North Carolina, marking the third consecutive year of the event. The main event features 23 drivers competing for a $1 million prize.
The lineup has been determined through a combination of automatic qualifiers, heat races, and an All-Star Fan Vote. Twenty-three drivers will start the main event, with the top two finishers in the All-Star Open and the All-Star Fan Vote winner securing spots in the rear half of the field.
Here’s how the drivers are seeded into the main event:
* The fastest qualifying speed determines the polesitter for both heat races and the All-Star Race.
* Heat 1 will feature a competition break around Lap 30, with one attempt at NASCAR Overtime if necessary. The top five finishers will determine the inside row for the All-Star Race.
* Heat 2 will also have a competition break around Lap 30, but the outside row for the All-Star Race will be determined by the top six finishers.
* The All-Star Open is an additional 100-lap event that will further mix up the starting order. The winners of Heat 1 and Heat 2 will secure spots in the main event.
The drivers competing in the main event include familiar faces like Brad Keselowski, Ross Chastain, and Chase Elliott, as well as newcomers from the All-Star Fan Vote.
