Nate Bargatze to Host 2025 Emmy Awards

Nate Bargatze has been announced as the host of this year’s Emmy Awards ceremony. The 46-year-old comedian will take over from Eugene Levy and Dan Levy, who passed the baton for hosting duties.

Bargatze expressed his honor in being asked to host the iconic awards show and is excited to work with CBS to create a night enjoyable by families worldwide. Television Academy chair Cris Abrego praised Bargatze’s “remarkable and hilarious” brand of comedy that resonates deeply with multi-generational audiences.

This will be Bargatze’s first awards show hosting gig, but he credits his success to his time on Saturday Night Live (SNL), where he hosted in 2023 and October. He praises creator Lorne Michaels for offering him opportunities that have impacted his career.

Last year’s hosts, Eugene Levy and Dan Levy, were not stand-up comedians and approached the gig from a different place. They aimed to create an atmosphere of welcome and celebration, making it a festive night for everyone involved.
