Denmark, Norway, and Sweden have announced a package worth $500 million to support Ukraine’s war effort. The funding will be used to acquire equipment and munitions from the United States under the NATO Prioritised Ukraine Requirements List (PURL) initiative.
NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg did not participate in the announcement as the secretary general at that time. Instead, Mark Rutte commended the three countries for their swift action and steadfast support for Ukraine.
The latest round of funding is part of a larger $1 billion package, which includes an initial $500 million contribution from the Netherlands announced on Monday. The contributions will help deliver life-saving equipment to Ukraine’s front lines, strengthening its position in deterrence efforts as it pursues lasting peace.
