NATO Scrambles Jets Amid Putin’s Latest Drone Attacks on Ukraine

Vladimir Putin’s latest drone attack on Ukraine has sparked a response from NATO, with fighter jets scrambled to defend against Russian missiles and drones targeting civilian, energy, and military sites.

Images from Poltava show the devastating impact of an attack that leveled apartment blocks, leaving fires and rubble in its wake. The attacks have resulted in at least four deaths and numerous injuries, with President Donald Trump saying the US is “having very serious discussions” to end the war.

Putin’s aggressive campaign includes deploying strategic nuclear bombers and Kh-22 missiles, prompting NATO to activate Polish and allied aircraft along its eastern border. Warsaw’s operation command stated that all available forces and means have been activated to ensure security in affected areas.

The attacks have also caused power outages across several regions, including Dnepropetrovsk, Kirovograd, Poltava, Sumy, and Kharkiv. In Zaporizhzhia, Russia launched multiple strikes on infrastructure and private residences.

Ukrainian officials condemn the Russian tactics, saying they are “typical of the Russian army” that target civilians and residential buildings. The head of President Volodymyr Zelensky’s office described Putin as a “murderer who has no respect for any nation or leader.”
