Naughty Dog has introduced a new update for The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered, allowing players to experience the game’s story in chronological order. The Chronological mode lets players navigate through Ellie and Abby’s perspectives, culminating in their infamous meeting. According to Naughty Dog, this updated mode provides deeper insight into the narrative.
The developer initially designed the game’s structure with a non-linear approach to encourage replayability. However, they now recommend new players experience the original version first before playing chronologically. The Last of Us Part 2 was remastered for PS5 in January 2024 and launched on PC earlier this year.
Notably, Naughty Dog is also working on other projects, including Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet. Little information is available about their upcoming game, but fans can expect more updates as the studio shares details.
The addition of Chronological mode joins a list of recent updates for The Last of Us Part 2, which has seen its release date and remastered version multiple times.
