NBA Draft Outlook: Pistons Look to Make Move with Late-Pick Pick

The Detroit Pistons are entering the NBA Draft without a first-round pick, but analysts believe they can still make a move in the second round. Jay Bilas, an NBA analyst, expects a lot of trades in this year’s draft, which could impact the Pistons’ chances.

Nine teams currently lack a first-round pick, including the Pacers and Bucks, who have picks at Nos. 23 and 47 respectively. The Pistons, however, have control over their future first-round picks and solid role players that could help them fetch a higher pick.

President of basketball operations Trajan Langdon remains open to making a move in the draft, but only if it’s for the right player and price. “We’ll weigh all these things as we get information in Chicago,” he said.

The Pistons have an opportunity to shake up their roster with a late-pick selection that could contribute immediately. As the playoff window opens for Detroit, giving up assets should be in service of winning in the near future. With Bilas’ prediction of increased trade activity, the Pistons will need to act quickly if they want to capitalize on this opportunity.
