Nebraska volleyball served up an impressive performance against Florida A&M, sweeping the Rattlers 25-3, 25-9, 25-17 at the Devaney Center. The Huskers’ dominant win came with a rally-scoring era program record 29 points conceded by the opponents.
Coach John Cook praised his team’s focus and execution, saying, “Every point from here on out is national championship point.” Freshman Olivia Mauch led the serving, recording four of the six aces and delivering a standout performance. Her serve was one of Nebraska’s biggest weapons, and the team’s rotation with Mauch serving has been its top point-scoring unit this season.
Nebraska’s offense was sharp, hitting .391 and notching 27 more kills and 11 fewer errors than Florida A&M. Bergen Reilly posted a double-double with 32 assists, while Harper Murray led the attack with 12 kills on .440 hitting.
The Huskers’ first set win was the most lopsided in program history, with a 10-0 run starting the match. They closed out the set with another dominant performance, holding Florida A&M to three points and two blocks. The second and third sets were more competitive, but Nebraska’s focus and execution kept them ahead.
The team will face No. 8 Miami on Saturday in the second round of the NCAA Tournament. Coach Cook described the Hurricanes as “international players” with great arms and a challenge for the Huskers to slow them down.
