Neil Young Pulls Out of Glastonbury Over BBC Corporate Control

Legendary singer-songwriter Neil Young has withdrawn from this summer’s Glastonbury festival, citing his disappointment with the BBC’s perceived exertion of “corporate control” over the event. The 76-year-old musician was scheduled to perform at Glastonbury with his band, The Chrome Hearts, but felt that the BBC’s involvement led to rules and conditions that didn’t align with his artistic vision.

Young expressed his concerns in an open letter on his website, stating that he had been approached by the BBC with a range of requests that he was unable to comply with. He described Glastonbury as “not the way I remember it being” and stated that he would not be participating in this year’s festival due to its perceived corporate nature.

Despite pulling out of Glastonbury, Young plans to continue his tour at other venues, assuring his fans that they will still have the opportunity to see him perform live.
